I will bake it maybe 5-10 minutes longer on my next attempt, and try bake in batches so that I can check for doneness.Reneenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4658533097319041648.post-35474156529686790262010-04-15T21:07:35.073+08:002010-04-15T21:07:35.073+08:00Re: Renee

Hope that helps!Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14692356231257399620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4658533097319041648.post-53105278114757690932010-04-15T13:39:54.364+08:002010-04-15T13:39:54.364+08:00Hi Wendy,

Using the amended measurements, I baked the shortbreads in a convection oven for 15 minutes at 155 degrees celcius till only very lightly brown on the edges, took them out of oven and left them on the tray for another 5 minutes before transferring them onto a cooling rack to cool completely. I haven't had shortbread cookies for a long time so I don't remember how the texture is supposed to be like. The matcha shortbreads were crisp on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside, do you think they were underbaked?
Here's a picture of the front of the shortbread:
http://img177.imageshack.us/i/img1546k.jpg/
and here's a cross-section pic of it:
http://img218.imageshack.us/i/img1550.jpg/
In terms of taste, it was nice, but I'm not sure whether they were underbaked. Please advise. Thank you :)Reneenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4658533097319041648.post-42880300333995988852010-04-13T19:18:24.406+08:002010-04-13T19:18:24.406+08:00Re: Renee

I don't really remember since I usually convert ingredients to grams for baking and scribble it on a piece of paper. If you want to be sure, you can try converting using this site: http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/cooking-conversions/cooking-conversions-calculator.aspx
It's usually very accurate.
Hope your shortbreads turn out well!Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14692356231257399620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4658533097319041648.post-85504520594490883982010-04-13T00:22:55.489+08:002010-04-13T00:22:55.489+08:00Hi Wendy,

Is this due to a typo, or did you adjust the measurements according to the amount you actually used to bake the shortbreads? I can't wait to try it out, but I just wanted to clarify the measurements for the said ingredients. Thanks!Reneenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4658533097319041648.post-31157389775383253162010-02-20T22:38:31.129+08:002010-02-20T22:38:31.129+08:00wow you really impressed me with all your cakes an...wow you really impressed me with all your cakes and baking.
